SMALL GROUPS

Surround

It has been said that your friends will determine the direction and quality of your life.  That is as true for adults as it is for kids and students.  Being a disciple of Jesus means to intentionally surround yourself with other disciples who can encourage and challenge you to grow, and to care for you when you are hurting or in need.  But it also means that you can be the one who challenges and encourages another to growth, and care for someone who may be hurting or in need.

There are all sorts of names for small group ministries in various churches.  We have two categories of Groups:  LIFEGroups and ADVENTUREGroups.

LIFEGroups meet weekly from September-May (following the Bartow County School Calendar) and are designed to be a place  to connect with others as you learn to apply God's Word to your life...together.

ADVENTUREGroups meet periodically throughout the year to help you connect with others as you pursue common interests...together.

We want Groups to be a place where you can surround yourself with genuine friendships and grow in your walk with God. We all need friends who can encourage, support, and even challenge us. We all need spiritual friendships who can engage us in meaningful conversations, who can pray for us when we are discouraged or confused, and who can celebrate with us when we experience great joy.

LifeGROUP and

AdventureGROUP

LifeGROUPS are currently on Summer Break and will resume in the Fall.

AdventureGROUPS will plan events periodically throughout the year, including the summer.

Fall Semester:  Session 1

August 14-September 18

Wednesdays 7-8:30 @ The Stone Church

Goliath Must Fall

We all have giants in our lives that creep in and take over. Giants like fear, rejection, complacency, anxiety, anger, and addiction. These adversaries establish a foothold, and before we know it we are tolerating something that diminishes the glory of God in our lives.

Jesus didn't come to this earth so we could remain in bondage to these giants. He came to give us life and give it to the fullest. He is greater and more powerful than any giant we will ever face, and he wants us to experience the freedom that is found only in him. Today, our Lord and Savior is telling us that our giants must fall.

In this six-session series, you'll come to realize that, like David in the Bible, we must focus our minds on the size of our God, not on the height of our giants. We must believe in our hearts that our Lord is able̴ to overcome any area of bondage within us. We can be sure that whatever the source of our affliction, through the power of Jesus it can, must, and will fall.

The̴ Goliath Must Fall Study Guide includes video discussion questions, Bible exploration, and personal study and reflection materials for in between sessions.

Sessions include:

1. Goliath Must Fall

2. Fear Must Fall

3. Rejection Must Fall

4. Comfort Must Fall

5. Anger Must Fall

6. Addiction Must Fall

Childcare is available for ages birth-3rd grade.

Older kids are invited to bring homework, books, or personal electronic devices with headphones and share the space with the LifeGroups.

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
