STONE QUARRY

Investing in our future

At The Stone Church, we believe that children matter to God and that God should matter to children. In The Stone Quarry (Kid’s Ministry), we want to create an atmosphere where kids say two things:

“That was fun!”  –We believe that children should enjoy church, not simply endure it.

“I am learning about God!”  –We will teach children the Bible in creative and engaging ways that they will remember, understand, and apply to their lives.

Age divisions:

The Pebbles:  Birth- Pre-K

The Rocks:  K - 1st grade

The Boulders: 2nd - 5th grades

The Pebbles (6 weeks-PreK)

The Pebbles is our weekly environment where your Infants through Pre- K age children hear a story about God and engage in activities to help illustrate the story. Our lesson includes a well organized curriculum produced by Life Church that includes different activities each week such as a video supplement, games, art, as well as a snack and time to just play and enjoy being a kid!

The Rocks  (K-1st grade)

We believe that the Bible should never be boring, and we want our kids to see how God’s Word fits into their lives in engaging ways.  We use the Jesus Storybook Bible curriculum which is written by Sally Lloyd Jones. This curriculum tells stories from the Bible on a level our kids will understand and incorporates fun games and activities to hide God’s Word in their hearts. A weekly handout is sent home with kids each time to further their discussion of the weekly Bible story. Weather permitting they will have play time at our "Crush and Run" playground.

The Boulders (2nd - 5th grades)

After check-in each week, the Boulders join the Rocks in their room until time to participate in worship with the adults.  This gives them an opportunity to observe their parents and others as they engage with the Lord through worship; then, they go to the Outback for lessons from LifeWay's Gospel Project curriculum. They will read the Bible each week to see how the whole story fits together and how all of God's Word points to Jesus and our need for a Savior.

Who's Involved?

Every Sunday morning we provide a safe environment for kids from birth through fifth grade where they can learn about Jesus and connect with each other.

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our ministry, and it’s an honor to serve with each and every one of them as they love on kids each week! Every volunteer who leads in the Kids Ministry has had a background check and is committed to making the ministry a safe, Biblically relevant, and fun environment for your kids.

"Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court."

Psalms 127:3-5

How should I prepare my kids?

Child Check-in: Check-in begins 15 minutes before each service. For the safety and security of your child, first-time visitors will need to complete a registration card. Once the card is filled out, you and your child will receive matching Security ID stickers. You will use your Security ID stickers to pick up your kids.

Child Pick-Up: When picking up your child, you must present your Security ID sticker before we can release him or her to you.

Healthy Kids Policy: At the first signs of illness (fever in the last 24 hours, a questionable rash, nasal discharge, vomiting, diarrhea, or conjunctivitis), please keep your child at home. Your child will be more comfortable there, and this will also prevent other children from becoming sick. Should your child become sick while in our care, we will notify you promptly.

Allergies: Please let us know of any allergies or medical conditions your child may have.

Thank you so much for helping us as we strive to make our Kids Ministry a safe environment for your kids to learn about God.

Interested in Serving?

We would love for all of our parents to be a part of our Kids Ministry. Begin the volunteer process by reading the Stone Quarry Handbook and reviewing the Overview of The Stone Church Safety System. Then complete and submit the other necessary documents.   You can drop them at the Stone Quarry Check-in table on Sunday mornings.

Thank you for helping make our church a great place for kids and their families to be!
